The economy volume has been kept increasing. The total production value in the district reached 61.63 billion RMB for the whole year, increased by 23.1%. The total production value of the district owned industries reached 14.41 billion RMB, increased by 20.7%. The economy volume in the district and that of district owned industries are 5.2 times and 5.5 times compared to the year 2000 respectively. The financial revenue of the district level reached 2.63 billion RMB which was 5.9 times comparing to the year of 2000, with an increasing percentage of 36.3%.

The economic structure has been kept improving. The proportions of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries are 0.2:74.7:25.1. The advanced manufacturing industry, construction industry, and hotel and catering industries developed very significantly. Rural urbanization has been formally started, and the industrial structure got further optimization. The total industrial production value of the whole district exceeded 70 billion RMB, driving a further increase of the economy volume of the district. Service Industry keeps growing rapidly, over 25% of the economic proportion. Retail sales of social consumer goods reached 9.99 billion RMB which increased by 20%. Rural urbanization has been formally started, and the program of speeding up the construction of the rural urbanization has been worked out. The work of planning, infrastructure construction, and the land requisition compensation are steadily promoted.

The actual foreign investment reached 147.33 million US Dollars, which increased by 28.1%. The actual domestic investment reached 10.05 billion RMB, which increased by 62.8%. The value of export reached 460.4 million US Dollars, which increased by 20.7%.

The newly created employment positions are 13,000, realized zero unemployed family ratio for three months. Registered unemployment ratio of the urban area is 3.35%. The disposable income of the urban residents reached 199.74 million RMB, which increased by 14.1%. The per capita net income of farmers reached 9,603 RMB, which increased by 10%.
